Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of OmanSchoolFinder.com and related OSF services (the “Service”), operated by Horizon Path SPC (Muscat, Sultanate of Oman).

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1) What OSF is?

Oman School Finder (OSF) is an independent platform that helps families discover and compare schools in Oman. We provide a “Claim this school” process so verified school representatives can access an admin dashboard to update their school profile information and manage parent inquiries.

OSF is not a government website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any public authority unless explicitly stated.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a claim request or hold a school admin account.

Parents/guardians may submit inquiries on behalf of their children.

3) School listings and information accuracy

We strive to keep listings useful and up to date, but we do not guarantee completeness or accuracy at all times. School information can change.

You should verify critical details (fees, admissions requirements, schedules, programs) directly with the relevant school and/or authorities.

4) Claiming a school & verification

A) Authorization

If you submit a claim request, you confirm that you are authorized to represent the school (owner/principal/authorized staff) and that the information you provide is accurate.

B) Verification

We may request documents or evidence to verify authorization (e.g., official letters, licenses, or other proof). We may approve, reject, or request additional information at our discretion.

C) Confidentiality of verification documents

Verification documents are treated as confidential and are accessible only to OSF personnel who need access for verification and security purposes.

D) Revocation

If we reasonably believe a claim is unauthorized, misleading, or fraudulent, we may suspend or revoke access and revert changes.

5) School admin accounts & dashboard

If your claim is approved, we may create an admin account for you and provide dashboard access.

You agree to:

• keep your login credentials secure
• use the dashboard only for authorized school management purposes
• ensure any team members you invite (if enabled) are also authorized

We may suspend access if we detect abuse, security risks, or violation of these Terms.

6) Content rules for school profile updates

When you submit edits or upload content, you confirm that:

• you have the right to provide the content (including photos/logos)
• the content is accurate, not misleading, and not infringing
• you will not upload sensitive personal data (especially student identity documents)

No student personal data: Do not publish student names, ID numbers, medical information, addresses, or identifiable student photos unless you have proper rights/consent and it is lawful.

License to display

You grant OSF a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, and display content you submit solely for operating and promoting the Service (e.g., showing it on your school page).

7) Parent inquiries (upcoming feature)

OSF may allow parents/guardians to submit inquiries that are forwarded to schools.

• OSF acts as a facilitator for delivery and tracking.
• Schools are responsible for responding to inquiries and for how they use inquiry data within their admissions and communications processes.
• We do not guarantee that a school will respond or that inquiries will result in admission or placement.

We may maintain an inquiry record for dashboard history, safety, and support.

8) Marketing communications

OSF may send service messages (claim status, security notices, inquiry confirmations).

Marketing messages (email and later SMS) are sent only if you explicitly opt in, and you can opt out anytime.

9) Ads and sponsored placements

We may display education-related ads or sponsored placements. Sponsored content will be labeled. Ads do not imply OSF endorsement.

10) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the Service, or bypass security
• scrape or extract data in a way that harms performance or violates applicable law
• impersonate a school or misrepresent affiliation
• submit unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content
• use bots/automation without permission

We may restrict access to protect the Service and users.

11) Intellectual property

OSF branding, design, and original content are owned by or licensed to Horizon Path SPC. Third-party content remains owned by its respective owners.

12) Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.

13) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Horizon Path SPC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

If you paid fees for a specific feature in the future, liability (if any) will be limited as described in the applicable paid terms.

14) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to admin features if we believe you violated these Terms, submitted unauthorized claims, or created security risks. We may also remove or revert content that violates these Terms.

15) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

For material changes affecting admin accounts, we may provide additional notice through the dashboard or email.

16) Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oman.
