If you want to visit a place that looks like a real-life movie set, go to Misfat Al Abriyeen. I walked in and felt like the village was built by friendly artists with help from very confident goats. The small mud brick paths twist around in a way that makes every corner feel like a surprise. The gardens and terraces are so perfect that I kept checking if they were real. The people are warm and make you feel at home right away. One local showed me a viewpoint so beautiful I almost stayed there forever. If this village does not impress you, something is wrong with your eyes.
One of the most beautiful villages in oman Exploring the old Omani houses and learn about how omanis used to live in this village before 500 years And the engineering of water supply by falaj system watering the terraced farms along side the mountain
Beautiful old mountain village! Just walking thru the alleys and narrow paths is an amazing experience. You also have an amazing view of the mountains from there. Definitely worth the visit when you are in the area. Easy access by car, no need to have a 4x4.
Misfat Al Abriyeen is a traditional Omani mountain village located about 200 km from Muscat. The buildings here are made of mud and stone, with some buildings more than 200 years. Houses are built on solid rock formations, much above the ground level. The village roads are narrow, steep alleys with lots of steps. Unlike other part of Oman, there is a lot of greeneries around the village, with dates, bananas and some other crops too. We could see the centuries-old irrigation system here, that channels water from mountain springs to the terraces, sustaining the village's agriculture and creating a lush landscape. The village is about 50 km from Jebel Shams and we visited it on our way back from Jebel Shams. It's a must visit place in Oman.
One of the most beautiful villages in Oman! Misfat Al Abriyeen is a peaceful and charming mountain village with traditional mud houses, narrow alleys, and amazing views. The greenery, palm trees, and old water channels (falaj) make it feel like a hidden paradise. Walking through the village is like going back in time – it's quiet, clean, and full of culture. It’s a great spot for a slow, relaxing day surrounded by nature and heritage. Perfect for photography, short hikes, or just enjoying the beauty of Oman. A must-visit if you're exploring the interior of Oman!
